Mr Anthony Kojo Owusu, the Akatsi South Constituency Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Volta Region, has led a team of constituency executives on an engagement tour as part of the party’s ongoing nationwide membership registration exercise.
The tour, comprising members of the Organising and Communications outfits, is expected to cover all 132 branches within the constituency. It is aimed at supporting individuals and officials involved in the exercise by expanding the party’s membership and strengthening its branch-level structures.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency during the tour, Mr Edem Unity Avege, the Deputy Communications Officer, disclosed that the team commenced the monitoring and motivation exercise in February and will continue until the final day of registration on March 30.
“We are visiting branch after branch to monitor the registration process, assist branch executives, educate members, and empower the branches to register more citizens into the great NDC before the deadline,” he said.

Mr Avege further indicated that the team has already toured over 100 branches, with the remaining branches expected to be covered before the closing date.
The team emphasised that a stronger membership base would enhance representation, create more opportunities for grassroots’ participation, and ensure a united front ahead of future national engagements.
Mr Owusu urged all sympathisers and supporters of the party to take advantage of the remaining days to register, stressing that a strong branch structure remained the backbone of the NDC.
The team expressed satisfaction with the level of commitment demonstrated by branch executives and members across the constituency.
The leadership also appealed to non-members, sympathisers, and well-meaning citizens in Akatsi South to take advantage of the ongoing exercise and join the NDC.
“Joining the NDC at this time allows members to be part of the reorganisation of the party base, participate in internal decision-making, and contribute directly to the development agenda of the constituency and the country at large,” Mr Owusu added.
