Mr Alex Dotse-Gbogbotsi, the Deputy Director in charge of Supervision and Monitoring at the Ghana Education Service (GES) in Kadjebi, has called on parents, teachers and other education stakeholders to renew their commitment to the growth and development of learners as Christians celebrate Christmas.
In a Christmas message to teachers in the district, Mr Dotse-Gbogbotsi said the birth of Jesus Christ offered important lessons on perseverance, sacrifice and purpose, which should inspire stakeholders in the education sector.
He noted that although Jesus Christ was born under humble circumstances and faced several challenges, He remained resolute in fulfilling His mission on earth.
“As we celebrate the birth of Christ, we are reminded of how little Jesus grew through challenges while remaining steadfast in ensuring that His mission was accomplished,” he said.
Mr Dotse-Gbogbotsi urged parents and guardians to recognise their critical role in supporting the education of their children, stressing that national development depended largely on collective responsibility toward education.
He drew biblical parallels to highlight the importance of safeguarding the future of learners, explaining that when baby Jesus was pursued as a rival future king, He was relocated to secure His life and destiny.
“In the same way, we must take deliberate steps to secure the right to education for our learners.
“The nation can only develop if we remain committed as stakeholders in providing quality education service delivery and meeting learner needs,” he added.
The Deputy Director also encouraged learners to remain disciplined and focused on their studies, urging them to shun laziness and other behaviours that could derail their academic progress.
He expressed appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of teachers, particularly those serving in rural and hard-to-reach communities, and prayed for God’s blessings upon them.
Mr Dotse-Gbogbotsi wished teachers, learners and their families a peaceful Christmas filled with love, hope and renewed optimism for a better Ghana.
He prayed that the season’s blessings would locate everyone, especially teachers and learners, as they enjoyed the Yuletide in peace, love and hope.
