National Theatre boosts operations with new 1000kVA Generator

The National Theatre of Ghana has acquired a new 1000kVA generator set to enhance its operational efficiency and ensure uninterrupted performances and events.

The acquisition forms part of ongoing efforts by the Theatre to upgrade its infrastructure and improve service delivery to patrons and event organisers.

The generator set was procured through funding support from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, an initiative started by Mrs Amy Frimpong, the former Executive Director and the Board.

It was later advanced by the current Board, chaired by Madam Korkor Amarteokor Amarteifio, together with Mr Henry Herbert Malm, the Executive Director of the Theatre.

Mr Malm said the new generator would solve concerns about power outages during live programmes and go a long way to increase productivity and efficiency.

“With the installation, the Theatre assures clients of seamless events and no power problem as its new generator set guarantees users of a functional facility,” he said.

The Executive Director said the Board and Management were grateful to Madam Gomashie, the sector Minister and her management.

The National Theatre remains one of Ghana’s key cultural institutions, hosting theatre, music and dance productions.

The new generator is expected to  support its growth and development.
