Nolap Technologies takes home GH¢30,000 for winning MTN business pitch competition

Nolap Technologies has emerged winner of the MTN Business Pitch Competition held during the Ashanti Fest, securing a GH¢30,000 prize to scale up its innovative business solution.

The competition, organised by MTN Ghana under its SME support initiatives, featured five groups of young entrepreneurs who presented technology-driven ideas aimed at solving pressing business challenges.

Nolap Technologies stood among the contestants after delivering what judges described as a practical and impactful solution, earning it the ultimate prize.

Other participants, including Pay Alert, Agrihub and Agrifemix, also showcased promising innovations focused on improving business operations through digital tools.

Mr. Eric Antwi, Sales Manager for Northern Business District of MTN Ghana, speaking at the event, said the competition formed part of efforts to identify and nurture viable business ideas within the SME space.

He noted that the initiative provided a platform for entrepreneurs to transform concepts into actionable solutions using MTN Business tools.

“We believe the ideas presented are practical and capable of making a real impact. This is why beyond the prize money, we will continue to support the winner through mentorship and monitoring,” he said.

Mr. Antwi explained that a dedicated team would work closely with Nolap Technologies over the next year to ensure the successful implementation and growth of its business model.

He emphasised that the programme was not only about rewarding innovation but also about sustaining businesses and helping them scale.

Mr. Antwi disclosed that the SME initiative, now in its third year, had impacted over 100,000 small and medium-sized enterprises through the SME Plus programme.

He added that about 20,000 women had benefited from the Adwumawura bundle, while more than 30,000 businesses had been supported through the Yellow Biz platform.

He further highlighted the role of capacity-building programmes such as the SME Clinic, which equips entrepreneurs with skills in financial management, branding, and packaging.

According to him, over 200 participants had already benefited from this year’s SME Clinic, gaining knowledge to strengthen and expand their businesses.

Mr. Antwi reiterated that investing in SMEs remained critical to economic growth, stressing that initiatives such as the pitch competition were key to unlocking opportunities within the sector.

The Ashanti Fest celebration continues with a series of activities aimed at promoting entrepreneurship, culture and community development in the Ashanti Region.
