Mr Dramani Chakurah, the Sissala West District Director of Education, says all is set for the commencement of this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) in the district, scheduled for Monday, May 4.
“All preparations have been put in place to ensure a successful examination,” he said.
Speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Gwollu, Mr Chakurah said a total of 1,324 candidates, made up of 590 males and 734 females from 60 schools, had registered to sit for the examination in the district.
He urged the candidates to remain calm, take their time to read the questions carefully and answer them to the best of their ability.
Mr Chakurah advised the candidates to stay focused and intensify their studies, stressing that success came through hard work and dedication.
He cautioned them against engaging in examination malpractices, noting that such acts could lead to the cancellation or withholding of results and ultimately truncate their educational pursuits.
A visit by GNA to the examination centres in the district revealed that preparations were adequate, with all registered candidates present and waiting to write the examination.
Some of the candidates who spoke to GNA said they were well-prepared for the examination and expressed confidence in excelling.
