Rev Dr Arthur urges Christians to pursue their callings

Reverend Dr Samuel Arthur, the Director of Evangelism of the Great Commission Church International (GCCI) has urged Christians to actively pursue their divine callings in Christ Jesus.

He explained that God had a unique, purposeful design for each person’s life.

Speaking at the GCCI Greater Accra Regional 2026 Easter Convention at Frafraha near Accra, Rev. Dr Arthur said there was the general calling unto salvation and the specific calling of individual in Christ Jesus and “once God calls a person, he is ready to equip the person with gifts to enable him to pursue the calling to the end.”

“Callings don’t come from us. We are called by God. God has called you to bring sinners out of sin. God has called you to live a devoted holy life. God has called us to a holy life.” Rev Dr Arthur said.

He said the first package of the gift of God to every Christian was the gift of the Holy Spirit; adding that the Holy Spirit carries supernatural anointing.

He noted that “Christians shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them.”

He said the Holy Spirit bestowed the charismatic gifts on Christians – wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation of tongues.

He appealed to Christians to use their gifts and callings to serve the body of Christ.
