The Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana ( PFAG) has acknowledged the outstanding leadership style of Mr Eric Opoku, Minister for Food and Agriculture which has contributed to the development of modern Agriculture in Ghana.
The recognition was in a citation on the occasion of PFAG’s Annual General Meeting ( AGM) and 20 the anniversary celebrations.
The citation stands as a symbol of the profound gratitude held by the entire membership of PFAG as a heartfelt “thank you” for efforts of the Minister and his enduring commitment to the well-being of farmers across Ghana.
Mr Wepia Addo Awal Adugwula, President of the Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana who read the. citation on behalf of the Association with a deep sense of appreciation, respect and honour, ,demonstrated profound recognition of the Minister’s incredible support, interest and dedication to the cause of PFAG.
” As the Minister for Food and Agriculture, you have demonstrated leadership, courage and conviction in the execution of your mandate”.
The citation added that “through the development of a farmer-centred programme, actions of the Minister have touched lives of several members of the Association in ways that have never been felt before”.
The citation described Mr Eric Opoku’s open-door policy, affable nature and willingness to work with stakeholders to ensure the Agricultural transformation he envisioned, has contributed to significant success that he chalked within his first few years in office.
PFAG identified his” particular interest and concern for members of the Association culminating in his outstanding support as a testament that together with the Minister, PFAG ” we will be successful in transforming the lives of millions of farmers across the country”.
According to the PFAG, ” your actions have left an indelible mark on the soul of this organization”.
