The Atwima-Mponua District Assembly in the Ashanti Region plans to construct pre-school classroom blocks to expand access to kindergarten education in the area.

Mr Issahak Ibrahim, District Chief Executive (DCE), who announced this, said the initiative was intended to provide adequate accommodation for pre-school children and give them a solid foundation for their educational journey.

The DCE was speaking at the inauguration of a three-unit kindergarten block at Bayerebon No. 3, funded through the Assembly’s share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

Mr Ibrahim assured the community of the Assembly’s commitment to providing the necessary infrastructure and logistics to enhance education, as well as social amenities to improve the living conditions of the people.

Nana Yaw Oppong, Krontihene of the town, commended the government for the facility and appealed for improvements in the road network and telecommunication connectivity, as well as the provision of potable water.

“Our joy cannot be complete without good drinking water, a good road and communication network due to their impact on humanity,” Nana Oppong stated.

Mr Justice Nkrumah Boateng, Assemblyman for the area, described the kindergarten block as a significant achievement and supported the chief’s appeal for improved social amenities.
