Abease Traditional Council donates food items to SHS

The Abease Traditional Council in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region has presented quantities of food items to the Abease Senior High School (SHS) for the upkeep of the students.
They comprise 200 tubers of yams, five gallons of cooking oil, a bag of beans, five bags of rice pieces of canned tomato paste, and an undisclosed sum of money.
Speaking at a short ceremony held at the school’s premises at Abease, a farming community, Obrempong Kru Takyi II, the Paramount Chief of the Abease Traditional Area and President of the Bono East Regional House of Chiefs asked the school authorities to use the items for the intended purpose of feeding the students.
He said the upgrade of the community school into a boarding status had brought myriads of challenges, including inadequate infrastructure as well as water problems, noting that the government alone could not shoulder the burden of tackling the emerging challenges confronting the school.
Obrempong Takyi appealed to the natives of Abease, home and abroad as well as wealthy individuals to support the school address some of its teething challenges and urged parents and guardians to invest much of their resources towards providing quality education for their children and wards.
Mr Samuel Dornas Mporha, the Headmaster of the School, thanked the council for the assistance, saying that the items would greatly address the feeding challenges and called on corporate bodies to come to their aid as well.
