Afenyo-Markin charges TESCON to drive NPP’s 2028 victory

Mr Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, the Minority Leader, has highlighted the importance of the Tertiary Students’ Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in achieving victory in the Election 2028.

He cited those transformative policies such as: Free SHS, STEM centers, and agricultural initiatives by the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government, as key messages they could center their constructive discourse on.

He said, “TESCON must be at the forefront of the struggle to re-gain power. The responsibility of shaping the narratives, engaging youth, and defending truth rests deeply on your shoulders.”

Mr Afenyo-Markin, also the NPP Member of Parliament (MP) for Effutu, made the remarks at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) TESCON General Meeting and Freshers Orientation held in Accra.

Speaking on the theme: “Building the Next Generation of Patriotic Leaders: Understanding the Vision and Values of TESCON, the Minority Leader emphasised the need for members of the Confederacy to adapt to the changing landscape of politics, where technology and information move rapidly.

“To lead effectively, you must adapt, innovate, and defend the truth, ensuring that your values and vision shine as a beacon for those who follow,” he advised.

Mr Afenyo-Markin encouraged both the TESCON executives and members, to work tirelessly to spread the party’s messages, engage young voters, and defend the party’s legacy.

He reiterated that to achieve the desired success for the party’s victory in 2028, they needed to work collectively to leverage their strengths through unity, discipline, and commitment to the party’s values.

The event was attended by some leaders of the NPP, as well as current and former MPs.
