Mr Micheal Asare Appiah, popularly known as Chairman Sasa, leader of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Patriotic Intellectuals of Ghana (PI-G), has expressed confidence in former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s leadership to bring about the transformative change Ghana needs.
The group, together with like-minded associations such as the National Association of Tescon Patrons for Bawumia (NATEP4DMB), Tescon members, and professional groups within the NPP, at a press conference on Monday, wholeheartedly endorsed Dr Bawumia’s candidature in the party’s flagbearer race.
He is described as the prepared, well-marketed, and most preferred choice among the flagbearership contestants in Saturday’s elections by the party.
Chairman Sasa said Dr Bawumia’s reputation as an incorruptible and credible leader, combined with his demonstrated resilience during his eight-year tenure as Vice President and his continued service following the 2024 electoral challenges, further solidified his capacity to lead Ghana into a prosperous future.
“It is also noteworthy that Dr Bawumia maintains an unblemished record, free from factional control or corruption scandals,” he added.
“In addition to his technical and innovative strengths, Dr Bawumia embodies qualities of humility, composure, and approachability. His calm demeanour under pressure, coupled with a consistent record of humility, has earned him respect across political and social divides.”
Mr Appiah noted that Dr Bawumia’s extensive experience in governance and economic management underscores his readiness to steer the nation towards sustainable growth and development.
