Ekumfi MP engages Fire Officer for establishment of Fire Station

Dr. Othniel Ekow Kwanoe, the Member of Parliament for Ekumfi, has met with DCFO Daniella Mawusi Ntow Sarpong, the Chief Fire Officer of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), to push for the establishment of a District Fire Service Station in Ekumfi.

The MP highlighted the constituency’s growing population, expanding the market, and called for an urgent need for rapid emergency response.

He stressed that a fire station would save lives, protect property, and support local development.

DCFO Ntow Sarpong, on her part, commended the MP’s proactive leadership and gave assurance of the GNFS’s commitment to working with stakeholders to expand fire coverage to underserved districts, including Ekumfi.

The meeting also explored cooperation in fire safety education, community sensitisation and disaster prevention.

Dr. Kwanoe expressed confidence that the engagement would deliver results, noting, “the safety of our people is non-negotiable. Ekumfi deserves a fire station.”
