Mr Kofi Delali Kasu, former parliamentary aspirant for the Ho Central Constituency in Election 2024, is gaining g support from party faithful and grassroots activists as they intensify calls for him to be endorsed as the next Volta Regional Deputy Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr Francis Asamani, a staunch party member in Ho, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that Mr Kasu remained the preferred candidate due to his long-standing loyalty and commitment to the ideals of the party.
“I am not in any doubt that Mr Kasu is the preferred candidate for the position. His devotion and commitment to the party are top-notch, and he has been in this political struggle for quite some time now,” he said.
Mr Asamani cautioned against attempts to sideline competent individuals based on financial strength, stressing that dedication, experience, and hard work should remain the basis for leadership selection within the party.
“It is not proper for anyone to cite lack of financial strength as a reason to push committed people to the back seat,” he stated.
Supporters who spoke to the Ghana News Agency praised Mr Kasu’s dedication, consistency, and years of service to the party, insisting that his leadership qualities and grassroots appeal positioned him strongly for the upcoming internal elections.
“Leadership is not merely about occupying a position; it is about service, vision, dedication, and the ability to inspire collective progress,” a campaign statement in support of Mr Kasu stated.
According to party loyalists, Mr Kasu possesses excellent communication and organisational skills, which have enabled him to build strong relationships across different levels of the party structure.
The supporters further described him as a hardworking grassroots mobilizer whose commitment to coordination and strategic planning had earned him admiration among party members and sympathizers.
“As grassroots Major General, he understands the people and works tirelessly for the collective good of the party,” the statement noted, while also highlighting his diligence, humility and servant leadership style.
Mr Manfred Kuku, another loyalist, commended Mr Kasu for his consistency and loyalty to the NDC, noting that he had risen through the ranks of the party through sacrifice and commitment.
“You have been loyal, consistent and very committed to the ideals of the NDC. You started from the branch level right up to where you are today. Hard work and commitment must be appreciated, and you are one of such individuals who deserve support in the upcoming elections,” he said.
He added that Mr Kasu’s leadership would complement the efforts of the Regional Chairman, Mr Agbavitor Mawutor, whom he described as hardworking, selfless, and indefatigable.
Supporters say Mr Kasu’s previous contest in the Ho Central Constituency parliamentary primaries in 2023, demonstrates his dedication to public service and political leadership.
Party faithful believe that his analytical thinking, inclusiveness, problem-solving abilities and interpersonal skills place him in a strong position to help reposition the party for greater success ahead of future political contests.
“A vote for Kasu is a vote for growth, unity, and progress,” supporters declared, expressing optimism that his leadership would bring renewed energy and transformation to the party.
