MTN Ghana, in collaboration with its allied company, has donated food items and other essentials to the Muslim community in the Western Region to support them in breaking their month-long fast.
The items, which included bags of rice, cooking oil, sugar, soft drinks, biscuits, a ram, bottled water, and a cash donation of GH¢10,000, were presented to Imam Alhaj Zulkifli Abdul Waheed, the Western Regional Chief Imam.
Mr Kennedy Ofosuhene, South-West Business District Corporate Communications Head of MTN Ghana, who presented the items, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to supporting the Muslim community. He noted that the annual donation had strengthened the long-standing relationship between MTN Ghana and the Muslim community.
“The company has been doing this for the past 15 to 20 years, and we want them to know we appreciate our friendship,” he said.
He described fasting as an important aspect of religious practice and urged the community to offer prayers for continued growth and prudent management of the company’s business.
The Chief Imam expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for its generosity and commitment to community engagement and prayed for the company’s continued success.
