Muslims in Sefwi Bodi observe Eid-ul-Adha with prayers and sacrifice

Muslims in the Sefwi Bodi District of the Western North Region have joined thousands across the country to observe Eid-ul-Adha with congregational prayers and the performance of Qurban at the district capital.

The District Chief Imam, Alhaji Suan Alasan Gbade, who led the prayers, called on Muslims to uphold the values of peace, sacrifice, love and obedience, drawing lessons from the life of Prophet Ibrahim.

He urged Muslim youth to prioritise education, refrain from social vices and contribute meaningfully to the development of the district.

Nana Gyasehene Yaw Amoah, Gyasehene of the Sefwi Bodi Traditional Area, who participated in the prayers, appealed to residents to live in harmony with people of all religious backgrounds.

He also called for public support for government programmes aimed at improving education, healthcare and infrastructure in the area.

Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim to sacrifice his son in obedience to God.
