Mr Jerry Yao Ameko, Adaklu District Chief Executive (DCE) Sunday has said that special recognition and empowering of women is key to every nation’s development and stability.
Mr Ameko, in a telephone interview with the Ghana News Agency in connection with the International Women’s Day celebration, said women were not only powerful agents of change but leaders and investing in them would yield stronger families, healthier communities and a better future.
International Women’s Day which falls on March 8, every year, is a global day instituted to celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women.

It also marks a call to action for accelerating gender parity.
This year’s celebration is on the theme “Give to gain – Investing in women’s empowerment.”
“If society gives to women today, it will gain a stronger tomorrow because they are powerful agents of change,
“Their strength and determination continued to inspire us, and resilience and positivity make a difference in our lives every day,” he said.
Mr Ameko thanked all women for the extraordinary works they were doing to help build a prosperous nation all Ghanaians desired and wished them a happy celebration.
