Social COBAANA Appreciation

The Council of the Bono and Ahafo Associations of North America (COBAANA) has expressed appreciation to government officials, traditional authorities’ religious leaders, the business community for supporting the on-going construction of the Dialysis and Medical Center” project in Sunyani.
The COBAANA, the largest umbrella organisation of Bono and Ahafo natives, resident in North America performed the groundbreaking ceremony for work to commence on the construction of the two-storey ultra-modern center.
A statement issued by the association and signed by Dr Degraft Gyan Kwafo, the President of COBAANA said the association was highly grateful to all who attended, saying that: ‘The ceremony wasn’t merely a symbolic event, however a defining moment in our collective journey toward transforming healthcare delivery within the Bono and Ahafo communities”
“The overwhelming show of solidarity, unity, and commitment demonstrated that when we come together with one purpose, we can lay the foundation for lasting change”, a copy of the statement made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani indicated.
It thanked the government officials for their endorsement, policy support, and encouragement toward improving healthcare infrastructure in the region as well as the chiefs and queens for their blessings, wise counsel, and unwavering traditional support which continued to anchor the project in unity and cultural strength.

The statement also appreciated businessmen and women who stepped forward with financial resources, materials, and pledges of continued partnership as well as citizens, home and abroad whose donations, both great and small, had proven that collective effort was the greatest strength.
“Your financial and material contributions thus far have enabled us to successfully move from vision to groundbreaking”, it stated, saying that: “While the sod has been cut and the foundation prepared, the greater task now lies before us”.
It explained that groundbreaking marked the beginning, not the completion, of the mission adding that Dialysis and Medical Center was envisioned to provide life-saving dialysis services closer to home and reduce heavy financial burden families endured when seeking treatment outside the region.
The project will further improve access to specialised medical care, create employment opportunities for healthcare professionals, and strengthen the overall health system within Bono and Ahafo regions.
It added that the facility represented hope for patients battling kidney disease and other medical conditions who currently faced long travel distances, high treatment costs, and limited access to care.
“Now is the time for every stakeholder to arise and build,” the statement advised and appealed to government agencies to continue their institutional support, urging chiefs and queens to sustain their advocacy and entreating corporate bodies and entrepreneurs to partner with the association financially and materially.

The statement called on philanthropists and development partners for support and asked community members, home and in the diaspora to maintain their generous spirit, saying that the project could not be completed without their continued involvement.

“Every contribution, whether financial, technical, or logistical moves us closer to the finish line and your kind contributions will not only build walls and install equipment; they will build hope, preserve families, and save lives,” it stated.
It explained that COBAANA was established not only to promote unity among Bono and Ahafo citizens in North America but also to leverage on collective strength to impact the nation positively adding that: “This project stands as a testament to that commitment”.
The statement assured that COBAANA remained fully committed to transparency, accountability, and excellence, as the construction work progressed.
