Christian Council Urges Security Agencies to Maintain Neutrality

The group of prominent
Persons of the Christian Council of Ghana has called on security agencies to demonstrate professionalism and impartiality during the December 7 elections.

The group of Christian and Muslim leaders stressed that the integrity of the electoral process depends largely on the conduct of the security forces.

Addressing the media, the Co-Chairman of the Panel of Eminent Persons, Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, stressed that their role in ensuring peaceful and fair elections is critical to maintaining the credibility and transparency of the election results.

“The Panel of Eminent Persons calls on the Ghana Police Force and all security agencies in the country to maintain their professionalism and neutrality during the elections. The Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare assured us of professionalism, which we welcome and salute. We hope this commitment will be reflected in their actions on election day.

“The police must ensure that every citizen can exercise their right to vote without fear or intimidation. The integrity of our electoral process depends on the commitment of our security personnel to uphold the law fairly.”
