Mr Maxwell Kwame Lukutor has reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in the South Tongu District through livelihood empowerment interventions aimed at improving their socio-economic conditions.
The support, undertaken in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department, benefited several PWDs with industrial machines, refrigeration units, Kente weaving equipment, raw materials, and container shops tailored to their specific vocational needs.
Mr Lukutor said the intervention formed part of broader efforts to promote self-reliance among vulnerable groups and create sustainable economic opportunities within the district.
He urged beneficiaries to make productive use of the items to enhance their businesses and reduce dependence on others, stressing the importance of empowerment through skills development and access to working tools.

Madam Victoria Dzeklo, the District Chief Executive of South Tongu, who joined the MP to supervise the distribution exercise, reiterated government’s commitment to improving the welfare of Persons with Disabilities through targeted social intervention programmes.
She said the government remained committed to providing continuous support to PWDs to enable them to contribute meaningfully to local development and improve their standard of living.
Madam Dzeklo encouraged beneficiaries to maintain and effectively utilise the items received to ensure long-term economic benefits for themselves and their families.
