The second phase of the Light Up Ketu North project initiated by Mr Eric Edem Agbana, the Member of Parliament for Ketu North Constituency, has been completed, with work expected to continue under a third phase soon.
The project, which began in 2025, involves the fixing, repair and installation of streetlights across major roads and communities within the constituency to improve visibility and security.
Under the latest phase, a team from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), working together with the MP’s team, undertook repairs and replacement of faulty and non-functional streetlights in several communities and roads across the constituency.
The intervention also complements the distribution of streetlights earlier donated to all Electoral Areas through Assembly Members.
Communities that benefited from the exercise include Dzodze Alagbavi (Global City), Dzodze to Kuli, Dzodze-Ehi Station to Dzodze Global Down, Penyi to Ehi, Ehi, Ehi Gbegbekorpe, Agorve, Agorvega, Atsikpey, Xantroli, Xipe, Devego, Dekpor, Adzoatsi, Xeti, Weta, Weta Junction, Adevukorpe, Dzakpasukorpe, Atiteti, Agorve Junction, Afife Health Centre, Afife R/C, Avunu, Kutsinu and Wuti.
Mr Agbana said his office remained committed to ensuring that communities within the constituency were adequately illuminated to enhance safety, improve visibility and support socio-economic activities.
“We remain committed to ensuring that we light up Ketu North to improve safety and visibility across our communities,” he stated.
He expressed appreciation to the chiefs, opinion leaders and the residents for their cooperation and support towards the successful implementation of the project across the constituency.
