Major Muktar Saani, Commander of Starlight Stretch 3, has commended residents of the Nkwanta South Municipality and surrounding communities for sustaining the prevailing peace following a prolonged period of conflict in the area.

Major Saani said there had been a significant improvement in the security situation, noting that residents were now moving freely and returning to their normal social and economic activities without the fear and anxiety that previously characterised the municipality.

He said the restoration of normal life was a positive indication that residents were embracing peace and gradually rebuilding confidence in their communities.

The Commander, however, urged residents not to take the prevailing peace for granted, stressing the need for continued vigilance and cooperation with the security agencies.

He appealed to residents to provide timely and credible information on suspicious activities and potential threats to enable the security services to respond promptly and prevent incidents that could undermine the peace.

Major Saani assured residents that Starlight Stretch 3 remained committed to maintaining peace and security in Nkwanta South and its surrounding communities.

He commended the various security agencies for their cooperation and support in maintaining stability in the municipality.

He also acknowledged the efforts of the Nkwanta South Municipal Assembly, traditional authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders whose contributions, he said, were helping to strengthen the peace-building process.

Major Saani further encouraged traditional leaders, youth groups, community leaders and residents to remain committed to peace, unity and dialogue.

He stressed that sustaining the current peace required collective responsibility, urging civilians and security agencies to continue working together to ensure that Nkwanta South remained peaceful, safe and conducive to development.
