Kacstone Records, a music and cultural development company, has commissioned a modern volleyball court and donated a range of sports equipment to the Paga Senior High School (SHS) in the Kassena-Nankana West District.
The facility, inaugurated over the weekend, attracted education officials, school staff, district education personnel and students from neighbouring schools who participated in pre-commissioning volleyball competitions and other sporting activities.
The initiative formed part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme aimed at supporting youth development, addressing some of the challenges facing the school, and promoting sports development to improve educational outcomes.
In a speech delivered on his behalf, Mr Wenawome Aborah Duriyem, the Managing Director of Kacstone Records, said the company selected Paga SHS because of its infrastructural challenges and the need to support sports development among students.
He noted that sports played a critical role in the holistic development of students by promoting discipline, teamwork, leadership, physical fitness, and academic excellence.

“As a company, we believe that sports is an important tool for nurturing talent and building responsible future leaders. We are confident that this volleyball court will provide opportunities for students to develop their sporting abilities while complementing their academic pursuits,” he said.
In addition to the volleyball court, Kacstone Records donated a wide range of sporting equipment to support athletics and other sporting disciplines in the school.
The items included one volleyball net, two 1.5-kilogramme discus for males, two one-kilogramme discuses for females, two 2-kilogramme shot puts for males, two one-kilogramme shot puts for females, four soft balls, two javelins for males, two javelins for females, one high jump set, and one table tennis table complete with four bats and eight balls.
The Managing Director also noted that despite efforts by stakeholders, the school’s girls’ dormitory, which was destroyed by fire in January 2021, remained uncompleted.
He announced that Kacstone Records had begun moulding blocks for the renovation of the facility as part of efforts to help restore accommodation for students.
Mr Duriyem further appealed to the government and development partners to support the construction of additional infrastructure, including dormitories, laboratories, and a perimeter fence, while advocating the elevation of the school to boarding status.
Mr Isaac Kweku Boena, the Headmaster of Paga SHS, noted that aside from this gesture, the company had provided numerous forms of support to the school over the years, including the donation of batteries for its vehicles.
He expressed gratitude to Kacstone Records for its unwavering support and commitment to the development of the school.
Mr Thomas Awiah, Board Chairman of the School, also thanked the company for its generosity and called on other corporate bodies and philanthropists to emulate the example of Kacstone Records by investing in educational infrastructure and youth development initiatives.
Madam Mary Magdalene Wompakea, the Kassena-Nankana West District Director of Education, praised Kacstone Records for what she described as a significant investment in education and youth development.
“This is not merely a volleyball court. It is a platform for discipline, teamwork, resilience, and excellence. Facilities such as this help shape responsible citizens and create opportunities for young people to excel,” she stated.
Madam Wompakea encouraged the students to take advantage of the new facility and sporting equipment while urging teachers and school authorities to maintain them for future generations.
The event also featured volleyball matches and cross-country races involving participating schools, creating an atmosphere of excitement, healthy competition, and sportsmanship among students.
