As part of efforts to improve upon health services, “Tarkwa May Legends”, an association comprising persons born in May and reside in Tarkwa and its surroundings has presented medical equipment costing GH¢30,000.00 to the Bonsawire Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound.
The items included delivery sets, pulse oximeters, baby weighing scales, dressing sets, digital thermometers, nebulizer machines, circumcision sets and examination lamps.
Others are movable blood pressure apparatus, gauze rolls, cotton wool, disinfectants, surgical gloves, private screens, and BMI scales with height measurement.
Speaking at the present ceremony, Legend Mrs. Mary Addison-Flynn, Chairperson, explained that because the group was dedicated to healthcare initiatives, an assessment was conducted at the Bonsawire CHPS Compound to find out their needs.
She commended members of the association for supporting quality health service delivery in the Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipality every year and charged management of the facility to ensure the items were maintained and put to good use.
Madam Rita Dua Dodd, Municipal Public Health Nurse and a Deputy Nursing Officer, received the items thanked the association and gave the assurance that the items would be serviced regularly and utilized to improve upon healthcare delivery in the area.
