The Oti Regional Police Command has been praised for its unwavering commitment to duty, with officers consistently choosing service over personal convenience.
Commissioner of Police (COP) Dr Sayibu Pabi Gariba, Director-General of the National Arms and Ammunition Directorate (NAAD), expressed appreciation for the dedication demonstrated by officers in the region.
Speaking at the Ghana Police Service’s West Africa Security Services Association (WASSA) celebration held at the Oti Regional Police Headquarters in Dambai, Dr Gariba highlighted the sacrifices made by personnel who often prioritise duty over family and personal time to ensure the safety and security of communities.

He lauded their selfless service, noting that their efforts have significantly contributed to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Dr Gariba’s remarks underscored the crucial role police officers play in safeguarding lives and property, often at considerable personal cost.
The Oti Regional Police Service, he noted, continues to work tirelessly to improve security and strengthen public trust.
He said the acknowledgement of their efforts was a testament to their hard work and commitment to duty.
Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, also commended Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Alex Acquah, the Oti Regional Police Commander, for his exemplary leadership in maintaining security in the region.
He said the commander’s proactive approach and consistent briefing on the security situation had contributed to the area’s relative peace.
Mr Gyapong further recognised the vital role police officers play in shaping the region’s security landscape and supporting national development.
The Minister expressed confidence in the command’s continued ability to maintain law and order, citing its strong collaboration with traditional leaders, youth groups, the media and the clergy.
He said the command’s efforts to improve police–community relations and address emerging security concerns were commendable, and the government appreciated their dedication to duty.
