The Wenchi Municipal Assembly generated a total of GH¢2,428,434.36 as Internally Generated Funds (IGF) in 2025, Madam Gloria Gyamfi, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), has announced.

She said the amount represented 97.14 per cent of the Assembly’s GH¢2.5 million IGF target for the year.

Madam Gyamfi made the disclosure when she addressed the First Ordinary General Assembly Meeting of the Second Session of the Ninth Assembly at Wenchi.

She said the Assembly had set an IGF target of GH¢2.6 million for 2026 and expressed optimism about achieving the target.

Madam Gyamfi noted that the Assembly had put in place several measures to enhance revenue mobilisation, assuring members that management remained committed to strengthening IGF performance.

She tasked the Finance and Administration Sub-Committee to explore innovative strategies to improve revenue mobilisation to enable the Assembly to generate adequate funds to support local development.
