The Kingdom Miracle Church of Jesus International in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region, has presented sanitation items and personal protection equipment (PPEs) valued at GH¢12,000 to the Wenchi Municipal Assembly.
They comprised 10 waste bins,10 pieces of rakes, long brooms and 12 pairs of hand gloves.
Speaking at a brief presentation ceremony at Wenchi, Bishop George Tannoh, the Head Pastor of the Church, explained that the items were meant to support the Assembly efforts towards proper waste management and improved sanitation.
He said the donation was part of the church’s broader community development initiative and commended the Assembly’s dedication towards keeping the municipality clean.
Pastor Tannoh pledged the church’s readiness to support the monthly National Sanitation Day clean up exercises in the municipality.
He cautioned the public against littering around and indiscriminate waste disposal, urging everybody to be environmentally friendly and serve as stewards of the environment.
“Cleanliness is next to godliness,” he said, calling for attitudinal change to curb plastic pollution and prevent flooding.
Miss Gloria Opoku Gyamfi, the Wenchi Municipal Chief Executive, expressed appreciation to the Church for the donation and assured that the items would be put to proper use.
She described the gesture as timely and motivating, saying it would strengthen the Assembly’s efforts towards improved sanitation, effective waste management and environmental sustainability.
