The Avadre community in the Akatsi South Municipality has honoured Mr Prosper Agbeli, their Assembly Member, with an Ashanti Kente cloth for his significant contributions to the development of the area.
The community cited several interventions facilitated through his efforts, including the provision of electricity, a public address system, a mechanised borehole, a Junior High School, a five-unit classroom block with an office, a reverse osmosis machine, and a merry-go-round playground for the kindergarten.
The Assembly Member was honoured an assembly meeting by a delegation led by Mr Akorli Freeman Kluk and Mr Dotse Moses Afatsawo on behalf of the regent, Torgbui Kofi Horgli.
Other achievements highlighted included the community’s 100 per cent performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and other social interventions that had contributed to improving living conditions and education in the area.
Mr Raphael Kofi Ahiable, the Presiding Member of the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly, described the gesture as unprecedented, saying it was the first time in the history of the Assembly that an Assembly Member had been honoured in such a manner by a community.
Mr Daniel Dagba, the Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South, also commended Mr Agbeli for his contributions, saying his development initiatives in the community “speak volumes.”
The community expressed appreciation to Mr Agbeli for his commitment to advancing development and improving the welfare of residents.
